How we wear this beautiful, confusing mantle of manhood.
A podcast of great conversations with menfolk.
A podcast of great conversations with menfolk.
Men today have unclear transitions from boyhood into manhood, and from manhood into maturity.
In today's landscape of changing roles, expectations, and responsibilities, it's a challenge for many men to understand and navigate their own journey.
And, most men are uncomfortable speaking about these topics.
Thousands of years ago, a passage into manhood might come on a first hunt, or three moons in the wilderness.
Today, boys have no such common experience.
And as menfolk get older, many are dramatically shocked through the stages of their lives, forcing questions about worth, value, and purpose.
We're going to ask the big questions and learn from personal stories.
What makes a strong man? Do we measure manhood by professional success or by the quality of our relationships? Has the traditional role of men as providers and protectors changed? What are the influences that affect how we see ourselves, our expectations, and our responsibilities?
We’re having conversations with men about these big questions and more: work, careers, families, divorce, relationships, fatherhood, faith, weekends away, best books, deepest regrets, moments of triumph, heart-stopping fears, total wins…and at the core, what it feels like to wear the beautiful and confusing mantle of manhood in the 21st century.
We will be publishing the first 10 episodes across Apple and Spotify on July 1st.
After interviewing guests in over 100 professional webcast episodes, and having decades of deep conversations with hundreds of men, I wanted to blend these experiences and create a podcast like no other.
The response to this idea has been tremendous.
I've made it easy and comfortable to have an enjoyable, memorable, and meaningful conversation. My guests feel better about their own journeys, and also drop a few pearls for other men to pick up and learn more about themselves.
We'll be sharing conversations that help us become the best of ourselves as defenders, protectors, heroes, nurturers, providers, and models of manhood.

Transformation happens to all of us, all the time. When men go through different transformations, sometimes they're planned and sometimes they're shocks to the system.
Sometimes it makes them change who they are. Sometimes it makes them rethink who they have been. For the most open-hearted, transformations always leave us stronger, better, and - hopefully - more loving than before.
And for those who transform with grace, they help you figure out who you are, and who you want to be.
I have a dear friend and he's gone through some major transformations in his life. From leaving home to becoming sober to coming out of a divorce stronger and more at ease with his love of life, he's a man that's still on his journey of loving himself.
This is a real conversation with a great man.
Mantle (noun): a cloak; an important role or responsibility that passes from one person to another.
It’s natural for men to think that they own and nurture a Mantle of sorts to be passed from father to son.
In the past, passing the mantle ensured the survival of the tribe because it wasn’t just teaching skills so that the next generation would survive…it was teaching skills so that the next generation could TEACH.
We all have a responsibility to teach. Grandfathers, fathers, father figures, and sons all receive and give in our everyday teachable moments.
This conversation explores how we drop and pull in those pearls of wisdom.
